Karaoke

I was at a karaoke bar on a date. I wanted to impress my date with one of my go-to karaoke songs, but when I went up to the juke-box karaoke machine to look for my songs, the only available songs were called “coronavirus”. I stood at the machine for what felt like hours, just scrolling again and again trying to find a song I knew. I remember thinking how are there already so many songs about coronavirus. I finally found and sang the song “Hey Mickey”. But by the time I found it, everyone had left the bar.

Note: Dreamer adds, “I love karaoke and haven’t been able to go since shelter in place started. I don’t imagine I’ll be able to return to my favorite queer karaoke bar for a long time.”
